no, i do not want to type "😞" when ":(" conveys the emotion better. and i see no setting to turn it off.
it'd be really nice if you added the option to turn it off, and it would be even better to get rid of it entirely.

I would suggest having a setting that you can turn on and off the emoji cons, because some people might not like the new update where it changes your " :D, <3, :( , :), ect." into actual emojis. I know me and my friends don't like it.

i posted this on another thread but i'm gonna post it here too since this thread is more popular:
i use emojis but this new update makes it harder for me to use emojis, since if you try to type a shortcode such as :banana: it gets converted to 😛anana:
this happens with :b, :o, :p, and :x. and also i dont want :) converted into 🙂
and also also the new renderable emojis (rofl, clown, etc) dont have shortcodes, and for some reason shortcodes with underscores in them were removed? (:broken_heart:, :money_mouth:, etc)
